The World's Biggest Skateboard That Is Bigger Than a BUS

Posted by Rafhan on Tuesday, 19 October 2010

At almost 40ft long and 6ft high, the world's biggest skateboard is longer than a double-decker bus and can accommodate more than 40 skaters (baggy jeans, baseball caps and all).

It is an exact replica of a normal skateboard but is 12 times longer, wider and taller. The world record-breaking skateboard is so big it has to be fitted with racing tyres from a car and transported on a flat bed truck.
World record: The 36ft 7in skateboard is 12 times longer, wider and taller than a normal skateboard

Fun: Designer Joe Ciaglia said: 'The board is about fun - it was fun to build, it is fun to ride and it is fun to see everyone's reaction to it.'

It cost over £12,600 to make, weighs 260st and can be ridden by up to ten people at a time.
Three people spent one month making the board from steel, wood and grip tape in California, United States. Joe Ciaglia, a director of California Skateparks, designed the board, which measures 3ft 7in tall and 8ft wide. He said: 'The board is about fun - it was fun to build, it is fun to ride and it is fun to see everyone's reaction to it.'
